Challenge Yourself with Balance Pods

But keep safety in mind!

What if you are very comfortable standing on one leg, or walking the pod line? A single-leg stance is a great core work and builds muscle and bone in the standing leg. How do you challenge yourself? Closing one eye is always a good way and enhances your other balance systems such as your vestibular system, and sensory perception.

Let’s add a simple movement such as a bicep curl to press a small amount of weight to a single leg stance. Once you have that mastered, throw in the balance pods, which is the main feature in my video today.

I simply place both feet on the pods, curl, and then lift a leg. My weight is on the light side, and notice when I lose my balance I don’t fall, I step and readjust my stance on the pods. I’ve created a place where I can lose my balance safely and try to regain my center of gravity.

There are many ways to up your stability game and keep movements fresh!
